A follow-up to his extremely popular Understanding Exposure, Bryan Peterson's Exposure Solutions: The Most Common Photography Problems and How to Solve Them is an Amphoto book that tackles 28 nearly universal issues that amateur shooters experience, and provides simple solutions for overcoming them.

Problems covered include exposing high-contrast scenes, freezing motion in low light, photographing a full moon, exposing subjects against a sunset, and balancing subjects in shade with bright backgrounds. Going over each scenario in a way that's easy to follow, Peterson demystifies the process of exposure and shows you different ways of approaching it, so you can really transform your images. He digs deeper than he did in Understanding Exposure, in order to help you break bad habits and take control of your shots, so that you can approach even the really tricky situations with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended Bryan Peterson is more than a photographer. He is an artist and has the ability of a writer. The first book I bought was his book about flash photography. An excellent book. I have found all his books to be excellent. He explains, in simple non-technical terms, how to get the most out of your flash and camera and in this particular book about solving certain tricky exposure situations. He does not overwhelm you with scientific facts or formulas but explains it all in layman’s terms. I highly recommend this book. As an example, he explains that to get landscape shots where foreground is important, use f/22 aperture if possible which gives you maximum depth of field and good focus of both near and far objects. He gives examples, in photographs, the result of various choices etc. I am impressed by his ability to explain his work in layman’s terms. Five stars !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wealth of knowledge here! Bryan Peterson has some really great tips to use in all situations. I am learning more about photography as I try out his techniques, and how to best set my camera in Manual mode to get the best results. I have been getting Aha! moments, which are great, each time I go outside to try something new.
