Manfrotto 755CX3 overview

  • 1Description

The MVH500AH Fluid Head & 755CX3 MagFibre Tripod with Carrying Bag from Manfrotto includes a flat base fluid video head, a flat base two-stage tripod, and a black and red over-the-shoulder carrying bag. The bag is padded, has a zipper running along its full length, and fits the tripod and head.

The head features a wider-than-standard platform to provide better support for DSLRs. The maximum load capacity is 11 lb. A 500PLONG quick release plate is included, and a side lock system on the head allows the plate to efficiently attach and click in from above, instead of aligning and sliding in from one end. Fluid cartridges on both the pan and tilt axes provide resistance for smooth, controlled pan and tilt. The tilt range is -70° / +90° and the pan rotation is 360°. The spring-loaded counterbalance is preset at 5.3 lb. The camera plate has both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera screws, and the head has a 3/8"-16 tripod mounting thread, with a 3/8" thread on the side for attaching accessories, such as a video monitor.

The tripod extends in two stages from 18.3 to 54.7" at the release of flip-lever lock clamps. Additionally, a center column is adjustable up and down to extend the maximum height to 64.6". The center column can also be removed entirely and used handheld with a camera still attached. The tripod legs are made of carbon fiber, which is lightweight in comparison to aluminum, absorbs vibrations better, and is immune to corrosion from water, including salt-water.

    Manfrotto 755CX3 reviews

MVH500AH Fluid Head & 755CX3 MagFibre Tripod with Carrying Bag is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased this tripod 3 months ago. I bought it because I had another Manfrotto that has held up well and has worked great for over 10 years. However, the MVH500AH is not a tripod that I can recommend. I've always stored it in the carrying bag that came with it and have never used cameras anywhere near the 11 pound weight limit, but the handle screw is now bent and I cannot tighten the handle or tilt/pan the tripod. Manfrotto says it will take 2 weeks to mail the screw to me. While I appreciate a new screw, I cannot use this tripod in my work for 2 weeks. The tripod is lightweight, but it is also not well built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible value This thing is lightweight yet sturdy enough for a rigged up DSLR or Sony FS700 (and similar) The fluid head is surprisingly nice, despite it being small and light on features. The fact that you can drop-in your baseplate is awesome. And you can pop it off and it works perfectly for slider work. I wish the bubble head lit up for darker working conditions like my other (more expensive) Manfrotto fluid head. The bag is very nice, and a very welcome addition to this kit. The sticks are sturdy and the fact that they can be leveled from the base column is awesome. That feature alone is worth it for me. I wish this system made use of Manfrotto's EasyLink -- look it up to see what I mean. Some of their recent products do, this one however, does not. All in all, the value is very high on this one. Lovely for travel. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manfrotto Fluid Haed This is a great tripod for multi-purpose users. The motion is smooth for video yet firm for still photography. It is light weight and comes with a very convenient carrying case. I have no regrets that this has been a great purchase for my needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from little screws come loose on center colum Lightwight and relativle stury the system seems well built. The problem that I have is the flat base that connects tot the leveling center column always works itself a little bit loose (there are three tiny set screws that prevent rotation). When these screws loosen, there is play in the head before the fluid pan engages, resulting in jerking motion for fist part of a panning shot. Some loctite or something to hold set screws is required to keep this from happening, even with minimal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic tripod! A must-have for video This has been one of the best purchases for my ever-growing video gear kit. It's lighter and easier to transport on the go than Manfrotto's more expensive tripods, yet still retains the durability/sturdiness I was looking for. Works well for sliders, which is what I needed it for-- cheaper Manfrotto models weren't sturdy enough and my shots kept tipping/bending. This one holds up. I LOVE the head balancing function by twisting the bottom of the middle pole, as it accommodates for fast leveling in the field. Overall a great product I'll be using for years to come!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy tripod kit for beginner I am using this for 2nd camera and for shoots with quick set-ups. The carbon fiber sticks are light and easy to set up quickly. The release plate is like all the other manfrotto plates except this head has the option to clip it on in addition to sliding. This is really great if you have other accessories that interfere with sliding like a matte box or follow focus. the pan adjustment knob is very cheap, the pan handle is so small I feel like a T-Rex would be a better cam operator, but it is a very inexpensive starter or additional tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tripod for DSLR and freelance work I use this tripod for freelance/documentation work as well as my own DSLR shooting, as well as Bolex filming. I usually bike to locations to film, so everything I need for light freelance work has to fit on my back, and this tripod is small and light enough to strap to my messenger bag. That being said, it's still super sturdy and has some better fluidity than most of the larger Manfrotto models I've shot with. Great carrying case too! I'm big on those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great products This tripod/head combo is a perfect match. Probably the smoothest, feature rich setup you will find at this price.I have now even started using this as my still photo tripod over my other Manfrotto 322RC2 ball grip head that over time I have just found a pain to make fine tune adjustments as it always jumps around and sticks a lot.If you're in the market for a lightweight, professional entry level fluid head setup, this is it!
