The PVS-7 Gen 3 Pinnacle Night Vision Biocular from Sightmark is a mil-spec, multi-purpose NVD designed for tactical professionals. This PVS-7 bi-ocular features an ITT Pinnacle intensifier tube, which provides 64lp/mm resolution and 25:1 signal-to-noise performance under nominal conditions. A biocular NVD is more comfortable to use than a monocular device during prolonged observations and recon operations.
An autogated power supply and minimal imaging artifacts separate the Pinnacle from other Gen 3 tubes. Autogating allows the image intensifier to continuously adjust the voltage applied to its microchannel plate, resulting in optimal image quality, reduced blooming, and extended tube life. Like other Gen 3's, the Pinnacle features Automatic Brightness Control and auto-deactivation circuitry that protects the operator's eyes when the NVD is exposed to excessive brightness.
A wide viewing angle, bright f/1.2 optics, and eight-inch close focus ability make the PVS-7 well-suited for aviators and tacticians performing close-quarter operations. This versatile NVD has a quick-release mount that enables hands-free operation with head gear and helmet attachment.
In addition to its optical performance and functionality, the PVS-7 also meets Mil-Std 810G environmental specifications for temperature and water-resistance. The built-in infrared illuminator equips the PVS-14 for pitch dark observations right out of the box. Additionally, a broad diopter correction range and interpupillary adjustment range help make Sightmark's version of the PVS-7 a full-featured NVD for wide-field observations.
