question

i've just ordered two of these from the site as i'm struggling with getting two LG 4K cinema monitors working - the specs here on the B&H page cite displayport 1.1 and 8.64 Gb/s, but the same part number on both amazon and startech cite that these cables (MDP2DPMM6) are actually displayport 1.2 with the 21.6 Gb/s throughput. are these in fact the very same cables that have been mislabeled, or is this an older version?
Asked by: chris m.
Our site does have the correct specification for the cable. It is a Display Port 1.1 with 8.64 Gb/s.

What is the requirement of computer to in order to display 4K resolution with monitor?
Asked by: kem
This is a Google Search answer: To drive a 60Hz 4K monitor, you need HDMI 2.0, and that's far from adequate if you're running a high-refresh-rate 4K monitor like the Acer Predator x27. To support that, you'll need to use a DisplayPort 1.3 or 1.4 port, which support up to 120Hz at 4K resolution.

I have iMac(Retina 5K, 27-inch,Late 2014,4GHz intel Core i7, Memory 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Graphic AMD Radeon R9 M295X4096 MB) computer. I ordered LG 27UK500-B monitor, is this right cable for my computer and LG monitor? I had 3rd party thunderbolt port to HDMI cable, but it was not working, I am crazy trying to find out right cable, It's too hard for me. Please helf me which cable is right cable, and link to me, i will appreciate.
Asked by: Sung
This cable should work, however the resolution of the monitor you have does not go as high as the iMac. Your iMac will go up to 5120by2880, while your monitor will only go up to 3840 x 2160.
