The black 6" DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort Video Cable Adapter from StarTech turns a Mini DisplayPort (male) connector into a regular DisplayPort (male) connector, making it easy to connect a Mini DisplayPort-equipped monitor to a laptop that only provides a standard DisplayPort output (e.g., Apple, Toshiba and more).

Molded latching connectors with strain relief, which secure the cable against accidental disconnection.

No. What you would need is check the video input connection on the display, as this may vary by size and age; then go to B&H for the proper adaptor

Yes. In my experience it does in my hackintosh. I have this running from an ASUS Z97 motherboard and it carries the sound to my 27 cinema display. I was a bit surprised at first, but it's awesome.

Can you Daisychain this to 2 thunderbolt displays?

Thunderbolt displays require an Apple Thunderbolt port to work. They work exclusively on a Thunderbolt data signal, not just a video signal. This adapter only convert a video signal to a video signal. The form factor is the same for Thunderbolt 1&2, but the data being sent is much different. This adapter is perfect for using an older Apple Cinema Display that has a Mini DisplayPort, and connecting it to a video card or computer that only has Displayport (such as Nvidia video cards, or HP computers). I am using it for that, and it works perfectly. Hope this helps.
