The JuicedLink BMC366 Blackmagic Cinema Camera Low-Noise Preamp is designed for use with your Blackmagic Cinema Camera. It features three balanced XLR inputs, two balanced 3.5mm outputs and one unbalanced 3.5mm stereo output. The low-noise preamp affords 48V phantom power, as well as a 12V power saving phantom mode. The lightweight aluminum enclosure weighs only 8 oz and the device can be powered by either a 9V alkaline or 9V LiPoly battery. It also supports audio output bracketing for camera overload protection. Plus, a selective power down mode allows you to turn off portions of the preamp that aren't in use. Although the BMC366 includes two mini-jack to mini-jack cables for connecting your Blackmagic Cinema Camera, two 1/4" to mini-jack adapters are still required and sold separately.

Camera Overload Protection - Audio Output Bracketing
Audio output bracketing duplicates the left channel on the right channel at lower signal level (approximately 16dB lower). So, if the camera overloads on the main signal on the left channel, you have a backup at a safe lower level on the right channel
Accomplished by setting the Mono/Stereo switch to Mono (mixing all mics together and sending to the right and left outputs), then attenuating the right output by turning on the R-pad switch
Audio output bracketing adds no noise or distortion, in contrast to the noise and distortion created by limiters. It also consumes no battery power
