Moab F01-SLS300851125 reviews

Slickrock Metallic Silver 300 Archival Inkjet Paper (8.5 x 11.0", 25 Sheets) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bit delicate I think that this paper can give a really unique look to certain pictures. You may want to do some small contact prints and adjust your colors, exposure, highlights, and shadows accordingly. I found the printer profile on their website completely useless. The prints were atrocious when I used it. I ended up using a profile that I had calibrated for another brand of paper. My only complaint is that most of the pieces of paper in the package had small pits in the finish and all of them had tiny scratches. It is easy to screw up the print. The paper also absorbs anything. A finger print will soak in and turn the paper dark. Handle with care.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow! This is definitely different. Printed on this paper with an HP Photosmart 8750 printer with dye inks--original HP inks (Vivera). The result is quite different than anything I have ever seen. My image is color. It seems that the light has to be at an incident angle of relection about 45 degrees from the paper surface in order to get the metallic effect, but when you get the effect it is like you printed on a sheet of aluminum. Quite beautiful in it's own right, but for me, at least, not a paper I would use for all images. I will not use it for exhibitions, since I don't think I will be able to control the lighting of the photograph to optimize the effect. Worth a try with different images to see what works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A new medium This paper is really a medium of it's own which will find spectacular applications with practice. It is not really paper, and it is not a sheet of metal, but it does have aspects of both combined with a novel third dimension. I had envisioned using this with a high contrast B&W image but was disappointed with the result. Using it with a color image gave a more pleasing result. I think for each photographer there will be some magic to be found, and I encourage you to give it a try with a variety of images to discover its possibilities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting artistic effects I've never used a metallic paper before but have found the results from using this paper to be impressive. It's better suited for certain kinds of images - certain well-lit landscapes, and architectural images, in my experience. It doesn't have ICC support for very many printers, and not mine in particular, but I have been able to work around that with a few intuitive image adjustments. It is an artistic paper and will give some great artistic results. I'd surely give it a try as I'm going to be buying more to play with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great paper but not so great support The paper is great but I made a mistake of not checking if ICC profile is available for my printer or not. Unfortunately they don't have one. I wasted multiple paper and ink till I get ok result (not so great). Moab support is not responding to my query. Giving 2 stars for that only otherwise paper quality is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent alternative for certain photos This paper is unique in that it is silver rather than white. This means that not every photo will print well on it, but when that right photo is printed on it, the results are remarkable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I printed my first picture on this paper and absolutely love the look. I printed a landscape picture taken in Rwanda and it made the clouds look almost 3D. Very cool!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So-so Bought a sample pack of this paper at a local camera store prior to placing this order. Loved the way the color and B/W photos turned out with the sample pack. Couldn't wait to get the full 25 sheets and start printing more....that excitement was short lived. My 25 sheets turned into 17 when I pulled out all the damaged sheets. No fault of B&H, this was a sealed box and well packaged for shipping. This was a Moab quality control issue. I contacted Moab and they asked that I print a photo on the damaged sheet and then send all the damaged sheets back to them...seriously, first I am not wasting my ink, my time, and my money to return these before you decide whether you will replace the pack of paper. In summary, still love the way the prints turn out just not sure if it's worth the price when you have to remove a third of the product
