    Desmond DTR-1 reviews

DTR-1 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Tripod Thread Reducer is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I recently got a great Manfrotto tripod as a gift, but I soon realized that the thread size on the tripod (3/8-16) was too big for my Canon 6D camera (1/4-20). Surprisingly, this adapter was one of the few thread reducers I could find for these specific sizes, and it's perfect for the job. It feels well made--the disc is metal (no cheap plastic), so it has some heft. I just screwed it onto my Manfrotto tripod head and leave it there, and my camera is very securely fastened to the tripod when attached to the reducer. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Adapter I needed a wide base to convert a 3/8 tripod to 1/4. This one does the job well and was about the only one I could find. It's well made. The 1/4 bolt is fixed and will sit directly over the 3/8 stud with enough room for a solid fit. I added a thin cork rubber composite washer for a nice fit on the top of the adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a nice solution. This adapter was used on top of an RRS leveling head mounted on a Gitzo Series 5 tripod, both when extra space was needed for clearance issues, and when a 1/4-20 thread was required. This item is well made, and because of its large diameter with knurling, it is both easy to tighten and loosen for removal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality This fits the bill perfectly so I can pack light with one tripod and use it for multiple things. Light weight but alumium. The only thing I would change is to have it come with a cap to protect t he threads when not in use but I can go to the hardware store for that, just shouldn't have too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well Used mate my camera having a 1/4 -20 thread with a tripod head having a 3/8 thread. Works well because the base is quite wide forming a platform for the camera to be attached to. My setup,is quite heavy, so the thickness of the base is not a problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! Since I have an older tripod, the threads on my newer ball head did not match. I found this adapter/reducer and quickly ordered it. It fit perfectly and I received it post-haste. Good job, B&H. Love your service and products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK adapter It works, but.....the 1/4' screw within the round metal block doesn't extend far enough into my cameras for a solid connection. Plus, you have to use a small-sized Phillips screwdriver to attach/detach it to your body or lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is worth the premium I use this thread reducer to attach a digital camera directly to a copy stand. The large diameter of 60 mm allows to torque it firmly and remove it easily when no longer needed. The workmanship and anodizing are impeccable.
