This configuration of the HiPo monocular has 4.3x magnification and f/1.2 light gathering ability. Additionally, this NVD is capable of focusing to within four feet. MY WIFE DOESN'T SEE WELL AT NIGHT SO I GOT THIS NIGHT VISION MONOCULAR FOR HER.SHE USES IT TO VIEW WILDLIFE AND FOR SECURITY AT NIGHT. IT SEEMS TO WORK BEST IN COMPLETE DARKNESS WITH THE BUILT IN I.R. LIGHT. THE LESS COSTLY AA BATTERIES ARE A REAL PLUS AND LAST FOR DAYS.THE CLARITY IS NOT AS GOOD AS SOME Night Vision Monoculars that I have used before but they cost more than the HIPO .
