Sony NP-BX1 Travel Kit Reviews

Convenient but flimsy

I bought this for my RX100. I was originally looking for just a spare battery but saw this combination and decided to pay the extra. The charger unit is very compact, barely larger that the battery itself, with a sliding top to insert and remove the battery. It works well and it is easy to throw it in a small bag with the battery inside. This also means that once the battery in the camera dies I can install the new one and put the dead one in this unit and and charge it on the go from a power bank. The only downside is that the plastic material the charging unit is made from is very lightweight and the unit feels like it would not survive too much rough handling or a fall onto a hard surface. However, take care of it and it's a useful accessory.

a spare battery [$40 item] is a necessity and a charger for an additional ten dollars packaged together as a $50 item is a worthwhile purchase. you can't put a price tag on convenience.

Nice battery and charger, and the instructions suggest you can use the charger to store the battery. But no USB cable is included.

The Sony Battery and Travel DC Charger Kit with NP-BX1 Battery uses a micro USB (Type B) USB cable. The Pearstone USB 2.0 Type A Male to Micro Type B Male Cable (Black) - 3' (0.9 m), B&H # PECUAMUMBM3Q, or the longer Pearstone USB 2.0 Type A Male to Micro Type B Male Cable (Black) - 6' (1.8 m), B&H # PECUAMUMBM6Q, would both be compatible for use with the Sony Battery and Travel DC Charger Kit with NP-BX1 Battery.

It uses usb, so you just need a usb charger that is 120/240 volt compatible. Most are.
