Genelec 8000-422B Reviews

works well with my 8320's

I recently purchased and installed these for a pair of Genelec 8320's that I'm using as surrounds. First, the good: - The mounts are solidly constructed and do a good job of keeping the monitors in place. - These are small and low profile which is why I chose them over their big brothers, the8000-402B mounts. The bad: - There is no mechanism to "lock" the vertical angle of the speaker other than elbow grease. You'll need to apply a fair amount of force to the allen bolt to get even a smaller 7-lb speaker like the 8320 to stay in place. - The included installation hardware is meant only for drywall. I would recommend mounting these in studs but you'll need to buy separate screws for that.It would have been nice if these were included and saved me the hassle of figuring out what I needed. After doing some research, I ended up using 2" #12 pan-headed wood screws. - For some reason, these stands cost more than the larger, more fully-featured 8000-402B stands.

Since this is a low profile mount, how much can tilt and pan does this permit when mounting 8030s?

Based on the assembly guide, you should be able to tilt up from 30-60 degrees from the center of the speaker, tilt down 20-30 degrees. Pan seems to show roughly 45 degrees from center position.
