Microphone Madness MM-ML Overview

The black MM-ML Micro-Lapel Style Mono Omnidirectional Microphone from Microphone Madness is handmade and features a microphone element that is strategically mounted and covered with a durable rubber coating. The high-quality shielded microphone cable exits the bottom of the cartridge and terminates into a 3.5mm gold-plated plug. The microphone comes with a Shure miniature wide-mouth universal holding clip which attaches to the microphone cable for greater flexibility. A premium windscreen is included to deter disturbances due to wind.

The microphone delivers a naturally crisp sound with deep bass, smooth mid-range, and clean high-range with a frequency response of typically +/- 2 dB. It can be easily plugged into any MiniDisc, DAT, or analog recorder that supplies a bias voltage (also known as plug-in power) of between 1.5 to 10 VDC.

In this case, you get what you pay for. It's a little flimsy and the mic clip is so incredibly difficult to use. The mic pops out of the holder over and over, it's a little infuriating.

Great small secondary mic for interviews,  weddings etc..

Small but has the qualities of a more expensive mic. For a super quick  ENG style corporate shoot I stuck the MM-ML on a zoom H1 that was in the clients pocket. Was able to cover the room with a Rode mic and have great quality client narration.

Yes, you can use the MM-ML with the Tascam DR-40. Use a Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H #ROVXLRP) to convert the mic's 3.5mm plug to XLR as well as to convert 48V phantom power from the recorder into low voltage plug-in power suitable for the microphone.

Does it work with wireless equipment? Sennheiser G3/Rodelink, etc?

This lavalier mic does have a 3,.5mm connection,.and it will work well with the Rode Wirelss Go system. But be aware that the Sennheiser systems as well as the Rodelink systems require a locking 3.5mm connection, so this mic may not make a secure connection and can easily pop out with those transmitters.
