Does this version have the locking (screw-on) ...

Does this version have the locking (screw-on) 3.5mm jack? Such as for a Sennheiser G3, or DR-10L?
Asked by: Christopher
No, this microphone has a non-locking 3.5mm TRS connector for use with a recorder, camera or a device with a standard mic input. We do offer the omnidirectional Microphone Madness Lavalier Mic for Select Sennheiser Systems in black (B&H # MIPSMLSRBL) or beige (B&H # MIPSMLSRBE) as a special order item. We do have a selection of other mics that are compatible with Sennheiser transmitters and the DR-10L. Please feel free to contact us through live chat or by phone if you would like further assistance. You can reach us by phone at 800-606-6969 or 212-444-6615.

I ride motorcycles and would like to use this mic ...

I ride motorcycles and would like to use this mic hooked up to a Sony FDRX3000 Action Camera and routed into my helmet. Is the lead for the mic flexible, semi-rigid, rigid for routing from outside the helmet to the inside? And is this mic too sensitive for motorcycle voice recordings
Asked by: GLENN
The wire attached to the mic is pretty flexible, almost like the cable you would find on a pair of headphones. This particular mic should be used with the gain setting on the camera as low as possible. This will make it less sensitive, and pickup less ambient sounds. However, it has a pretty low SPL handling, just 105 dB, so if you are riding and adjusting the volume of your voice to compensate for engine or wind noise, you may get distortion.

question

Anyone using them with something like the Sanken RM-11 Rubber Mount? I'm trying to find something I can stick this mic in that I can then stick to clothing.
Asked by: dan
You may consider using Ryocte undercovers (B&H # RYUC) as they do a pretty good job minimizing rustling noise from clothing.

question

Looking at this, the Countyman B6 and the Sanken COS-11D for a documentary I'm doing for a hospital in a small African country this summer. I know the B6 and 11D are highly regarded, but given the $ and my need for 2-3 mics while paying for them out-of-pocket, I want to find the best bang-for-buck without sacrificing a lot in sound quality. My big question before trying it is, how is the self-noise and handling-noise on this unit? Thx in advance.
Asked by: Ryan
The Microphone Madness MM-MSLM is an excellent microphone for the money, relatively quiet, and not too bad on the handling noise. You may want to pick up some hush lav quieting sleeves (used with the sanken lavs) to better isolate the microphone from rustling noise. Also, please not the microphone requires power via bias voltage; 1 to 9 VDC.

would these work for a wireless system? for ...

would these work for a wireless system? for example, the new Rode Wireless Go system or Sennheiser XSW kits? do transmitters typically provide the plug in power needed for these lavs?
Asked by: Luis
This will work with the Rode Go systems very well, I've used them together in the past and overall had a good experience. However it does not work with Sennheiser wireless system since they have a proprietary locking pin, so when buying lavs for Sennheiser systems it either needs to be made buy Sennheiser or for Sennheiser.
