Does this allow dual channel output? Wanting to plug in to Sennheiser AVX systems into my mirrorless, but want to control each channel.
Asked by: Tristan
This is designed to input two XLR microphones into a single 3.5mm stereo jack. It will put one microphone on the left channel and the other on the right.

question

if my mics need phantom power, will this cable work for me? I have the mxl interview kit.
Asked by: Doron M.
I am using the Olympus PL8 with a mic kit for the accessory port. The mic that comes with it is a condenser mic which means it needs power. The camera is supplying this power as there is no mic pre in line and no battery in the mic. I also want to use condenser mics that were designed for consumer gear and have the 1/8" plug built in. Will this cable work?

question

For a Panasonic Lumix GH4, will this feed the 2 inputs to separate audio channels? That is, if I have a wireless mike plugged into 1 of the female xlrs, and a shotgun mike into the 2nd female xlr, will the recorded video file have the wireless on the left channel, and shotgun on the right channel, so I can choose one or the other. Or will the 2 signals be mixed together?
Asked by: Lars
The two signals should be split into 2 tracks left and right. This cable is wired for this purpose. But such is not always the case with Y cables.
