Glyph Technologies Mobile External HDD Reviews

I like the Glyph hard drives so much that I bought another.

I use it to back up my two Mac computers. First I partition them in half, then I save a Carbon Copy Clone on one side and Time Machine on the other. Works beautifully. Glyph hard drives are the best and most reliable available.

Overall I am quite pleased with this hard drive so far. The body is solidly built, and it has a pleasing weight to it. The color is nice too. I use it for my Xbox One, and there have been no problems.

Computer files in hand!

Really glad to have all my computer files fit in the palm of my hand. However, I am a PC-user, so the reformatting of the hard drive was ugly and cumbersome, even doing it on my husband's Mac. Still worth it.

question

how does this differ from a glyph 1tb studio mini mobile hard drive?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Black Box model has only a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and spins @ 5400 rpm. The Studio Mini has, USB 3.0, Firewire 800 and eSATA interfaces and spins along @ 7200 rpm. So the Studio mini is the better choice for medium-to-heavy video editing and the Black Box is better suited for general storage. That said, I have edited hi-res footage (Avid DNxHD145) with the Black Box and had no issues whatsoever. But I might have just gotten lucky, too.
