The Lamborghini of Laptops!!!

I bought this computer almost a year ago and it blows my gaming desktop out of the water. Loads extremely fast and is comfortable to use. It is a bit heavy but this machine wasn't built to be light, it was built for raw power.

Totally worth it!!!

When I graduated from High School my Dad said he would get me a laptop for me to use in College (And Computer Games). After looking for a while we finally decided this one. At the time it was 2.3k dollars but since it was a high end laptop we figured it would last for a long time and oh boy this baby is awesome! Here are some good things about it. This thing can easily run just about any game and/or program. During late night sessions of writing an essay or spending my time playing games this is perfect. I didn't know this when I bought it but the keyboard glows rainbows, friggin' RAINBOWS!? I was suprised and very glad (The colors are adjustable, or you can turn them off). As for gaming, I wanted to see how far this thing can go so I decided to try out Borderlands 2 on the highest graphics possible. It would require the fan to be turned on (Which is a touch sensitive button to the left of the power button) as well as having it plugged in but other then that it ran smoothly. Now then, some iffy bits. The only thing that I notice is that it's heavy, but hey, it's got to be with the internal fan that it has. Another fact is the fan itself, it's loud as heck. When I first turned it on I was afraid the laptop would explode or something. The good news is that you can toggle it on/off with a button so if you are just surfing the web or writing up documents then you can keep it off. Other then these two very minor details this thing is awesome. Anyway, I highly recommend this system to anyone because it has a lot of power to handle just about anything from today till the next 3-4 years (Gaming companies are really uping the next gen games you know). And to those who complain about it using Windows 8? It's not that hard, maybe a little new but I got into it fast and now I think it's easier then Windows 7. If you still want 7 over 8 though then just install that OS instead of blaming the computer.

I use the computer mostly for photo editing and it has proven very effective - it handles some 1GB psd files with ease, and the typical 200-300MB files I work with run fast and easy - I also intend to use it for video editing, but I have not done enough of it yet to have an option except that it opens Premiere Pro quickly and scrubs video effortlessly ... it does occasionally turn the bluetooth off on its own for some reason, but this is just a small annoyance because I have a bt mouse - the sound is nice but could be a little fuller, though when I want good sound I connect headphones and get amazing sound ...

I'm very happy with my choice to go with MSI. I use the laptop primarily as a moble editing station when on the road and I'm impressed with the features for the price. Operating system aside, it delivers fast renders, and open GL makes great use of the 4 gigs of video ram. The addition of 2 solid state drives is a plus with noticeable reduction in load times. I would buy again.

Don't waste time with Windows 8

By all accounts the notebook is a high-spec, but the issues with Windows 8 (lack of driver compatibility, specifically it won't work with BlackMagic Ultrastudio SDI) render it useless. What a waste of a great machine. Buy an alternative MSI with Windows 7, even if it's lower spec.
