This adapter allows a "universal screw mount" type lens (Pentax M42) to be mounted on a Minolta MD-mount type body. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), or any other functions are not retained using this adapter. In this case you will need to meter in "stop-down mode" since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body.

Minolta MD Body to Universal Lens Adapter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I bought this lens adapter to use on my Minolta X700. I have been using universal screw mount (m42) lenses on my 7D, and wanted to be able to use those same lenses on my X700 instead of having more and more camera-specific lenses in my camera bag. This adapter does it's job and does it quite well. It's sturdy metal, fits the camera and lenses snugly, achieves infinity focus.. no problems with this product at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from M42/universal/screwmount lens on Minolta Although I have a collection of film Pentax equipment, I fell in love with a black Minolta XD-11, considered by many to be the top Minolta. With the adapter I may use my M42 Super Multicoated Takumars on the XD body - and have a most interesting camera/lens combination. Used in stopped-down, of course.
