Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gets the job mostly done... I use this product with a Nikon d90 and super takumar 50mm 1.4. I've found that its much better than others I've tried but not perfect. There seems to be an issue with it letting the lens reach infinity focus, just doesn't quite get there but almost, and also when the lens is wide open the focus doesn't seem to correspond to what I see in the viewfinder and it gives the image a really ugly soft blur, thats at 1.4. Other than that the adapter works great. The lens is still very usable, just not at 1.4, and for anyone interested I'd say its the best I've found so far. Almost worth the money but perhaps a little over priced for what it is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I have an affinity for old Russian made lenses that used the M42 mount. Unfortunately for Nikon that means that you need an adapter with an optical element in it in order to still be able to focus to infinity. Normally I try to avoid putting extra glass between my subject and the sensor of my camera, but decided to give this a try. I was pleased to see it works great. There is a very slight loss of image quality using this adapter over one without a glass element, however I would gladly trade the almost imperceptible loss of IQ for the ability to still focus to infinity. If you are a fan of old M42/Pentax mount lenses and want to use them on your Nikon, this is worth picking up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works with all the old lenses I have 8 old Pentex screw mount lenses that I couldn't part with. The adapter worked as expected. Everything is manual so using the old lenses on my D-90 is just like the old days. A good product at a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I have a Soligar 400mm telephoto lens that I've had since the 1970's. Thought it would be useless but this conversion piece allows me to use it on my Nikon D40 and I have taken a few photos for a test with it and it seems to work great. I thought it was kind of pricey initially but it appears well worth the cost.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Servicable but not great The good news is the fit and finish of the adapter are good and it does focus to ininity with the M42 lenses I have. I have tried three Takumars and a Flektogon with the adapter, all mechanically worked without problems. The bad news is the extra glass does reduce the clarity of images. I'm new to Nikon, previously using a system that didn't require a glass adapter. The M42s are definitely softer with the adapter. It is servicable until I get Nikon fit primes but the results are not as nice. The adapter is a good stop-gap tool for my needs, but not a long term solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ... After coming back from Afghanastan, my son has decided to take a lot of pictures. He bought a Nikon SLR with video. Before I retired from the Army, I was quite the camera buff with a Pentax. I decided to try to find out if I could get something to make my lens work on his camera and I ... ordered the part that I needed. ... my son is now using all of my old (but very good) equipment. Thank you ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from careful with shorter lenses it converts lenses well, stays on well, but i had a problem with its glass element jamming my mirror when focused at infinity with my 50mm 1.4 takumar

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not exactly what was expected Attention, it has an optical element (divergent lens)! looks like plastic...?
