The Zacuto Recoil V2 For Canon C100/C100 Mark II/C300/C300 Mark II/C500 is a shoulder rig designed specifically for use with the Canon C100, C300, and C500 cameras. It features a studio style baseplate, a QR shoulder pad, and Zacuto's ENG Grip Relocator. This system allows you to quickly and easily move from shoulder rig configuration to tripod-mounted camera and back again. The studio style baseplate includes 15mm support rods and is designed to provide the proper rod to lens height for matte boxes and lens accessories when used with the C100/C100 Mark II/C300/C300 Mark II/C500. It also incorporates four additional 15mm rod clamps in two pairs 60mm apart, one pair on each side. These clamps are loosened and tightened with an Allen key. This allows you to attach available 15mm rods and rod mounted accessories, such as the Zacuto Zwiss V2 plate to the side of the baseplate.
The ENG style grip relocator mounts to the 15mm rods, and the hand grip for the C100/C100 Mark II/C300/C300 Mark II/C500 cameras attaches to the relocator so you can place the camera's handgrip in a comfortable position when shooting with the baseplate. The relocator interfaces with the handgrip, and a 24" long cable connects it to the camera, preserving the camera control functions of the handgrip. The shoulder pad features a curved design, and the Viscoelastic cushion protects your shoulder from the weight of the camera. It also features a QR design that allows you to easily slide the camera forward and back on the shoulder pad to get the balance how you like it. Zacuto recommends an available EVF or external monitor be used with this system.
Note: although the ENG Grip Relocator can be used with the Canon EOS C500, the C500 does not come with a Canon Grip, and a grip must be sourced separately.
The Studio Baseplate with 12" (30.48 cm) Rods for C100/C300/C500 from Zacuto is designed specifically for the Canon EOS C100, C300, and C500 cameras. It is exceptionally flat which helps to keep the center of gravity quite low. This baseplate features a pair of 15 mm rods that are 12" (304.8 mm) long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate.
On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15 mm lightweight holes. The side holes take 15 mm female rods that are locked with Allen screws. It also comes with 5/32" Allen Key to drive these screws. This gives you a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration.
You can even mount a Zwiss Plate with professional batteries on the side of the baseplate when shooting on a tripod for better balance. When not using a cage configuration, the side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate also has standard 1/4" 20 and 3/8" 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
The Studio Baseplate attaches to the camera with 3/8" 16 and 1/4" 20 screws*. This baseplate is perfect for a rig like the Stinger or an advanced tripod rig with rods extending at the back for external power.
The ENG Grip Relocator for C100/300 from Zacuto allows users to mount the Canon EOS C100 or C300's removable grip onto 15mm rods, for an ENG-style rig with the grip located directly beside the rods. The grip is tethered to the camera with a 24" cable, and once plugged in, users can control the record trigger, power on/off, lens aperture, and a programmable function button for such features as waveform, 1 to 1 zoom, "My Menu" and more.
The ENG Grip Relocator can be used with the Canon EOS C500. However, the C500 does not come with a Canon Grip. A grip must be purchased separately.
The Zacuto QR Shoulder Pad is shaped to fit comfortably on your shoulder, providing a quick release (QR) camera-mounted pad to cushion your shoulder from the camera. The gel pad cushion is made from Akton Polymer, which absorbs shock and vibration and retains its properties in temperature extremes far exceeding what you or I could tolerate.
The included QR plate attaches to a camera or baseplate, and you slide the plate into the QR clamp on the shoulder pad. This allows you to easily adjust the camera's position on the shoulder pad for balance and comfort. The QR system also allows you to quickly remove the shoulder pad and mount the camera to a tripod with a compatible QR mechanism.
