The 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens for Sony E Mount from Samyang is a manual focus wide-angle prime lens compatible with APS-C format mirrorless digital cameras. It provides an 83.1° angle of view which translates into a 35mm format equivalency of 24mm. A fast maximum aperture of f/2.0 is effective in low light shooting and provides shallow depth of field. With two aspherical lens elements and one extra-low dispersion element, chromatic aberrations are minimized and sharp, color-accurate images are the result. UMC lens coating facilitates even light transmission and reduces ghosting and flares.

question

Is it possible to use it with a Canon T3i with a clipin Halpha filter, such as an Astronomik filter?
Asked by: Alexis K.
We do not carry the Astronomik line of filters so we cannot speak to the efficacy of such a combination. Please contact Astronomik. We can offer the opinion that this lens will behave the same as a Canon lens as far as mounting is concerned.

question

Looks obvious but Id rather to ask than make a mistake: Does it mount on Full Frame camera? (Nikon D750) Thank you!
Asked by: Leo F.
As far as I can tell there's nothing about the lens mount that would preclude mounting it on just about any Nikon. Technically, the lens is AI-P as it has an AI aperture coupling tab and an internal CPU. However, this lens is designed for DX/APS-C Nikon DSLRs, and I've only used it on a D300, D7000, and D7100, -all APS-C. On a full frame camera it would probably vignette some in the corners, and you'd have to use it in DX crop mode. The lens is chipped but I don't know if that would make the D750 or any other FX/full frame Nikon switch automatically to DX crop or whether you'd have to select that manually. So if you're hoping this will cover the full frame on an FX camera I'd say that it probably will not.

question

can I use B+W 77mm 3.0 ND 110 Filter on this lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
The lens takes standard 77mm threaded filters. Since it is a wide angle lens (on APS-C it's the equivalent field of view of a 24mm lens on full frame) you do need to use filters that don't have thick frames in order to avoid vignetting. I normally use the lens with a Hoya Pro-1 UV filter on it. That filter has a frame that's 4mm thick, and I don't have any problems with vignetting. I have not tried it with a filter with a thicker frame.
