Cavision Single Handgrip Reviews

Pretty good handgrip

Using with Tilta cage for BMPCC. Nice handgrip but doesn't fit rods well. Had to really crank down on the tightening screw to get it to get snug on the rods. I thought I was going to either strip the threads or my tendons. Is snug now but time will tell. Super necessary to smoothly pan and tilt BMPCC on sticks or to use handheld.

I use this on my Canon HF G10 video camera. It has proven itself to be very usable to stabilize video shoots with it. The size lends itself to be very controllable without the use of counter weights of other systems. Certainly the counter weight systems are useful in many if not all situations however if those systems are too cumbersome or restrictive then this is one to use. The Canon HF G10 uses a flash drive so it is not a heavy camera making it easy for this grip to handle. The single hand-grip is made of sturdy molded plastic and the attachment and pivot points are well made with a mix of chrome plated high tensile steel and high carbon steel where they count. This type of hand grip is very hard to come by as a lot of available hand grips are either part of a counter weight system or mounting system for lights, microphones, etc. In summary this is a well made, high quality single purpose accessory that deserves support from the motion and still photography community. It is easy to use and its cost is very reasonable in considering its quality. I am a firm believer in the saying that you pay for what you get. The only thing wrong about this item is that it is not always available for immediate purchase. A possible testament to its popularity? Perhaps.
