The Cotton Carrier Hand Strap allows you to comfortably carry a DSLR in your hand and also connect it to a tripod via the included Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate. This quick-release plate attaches to the base of your DSLR via its 1/4"-20 threaded hole and can be easily clamped directly to a tripod. You can choose to attach another optional quick-release plate to the hand strap as well.

The Arca-Swiss style plate included with the Cotton Carrier Hand Strap is 2.0 in long. The Cotton Carrier CCS Flat Camera Hub will prevent the plate from attaching to a tripod head.

How does this hand strap work when an optional handgrip is used? In this case, I use a 5D Mark III with the battery grip.

With the plate on bottom to attach to a area style plate I have either Kirk or RRS l brackets on my cameras, will this hand strap hook to my tripod from the l brackets?
I have the strap attached to the bottom of camera. It does have a tripod hole to attach to anything that usesthe correct screw. I don't attach to tripod, but attach my lens to the tripod. I use this for Telephoto work almost 100%. Hope this helps

I would want to use this strap with a Manfrotto QR instead of the suppied Arca Swiss QR. Has anyone tried this? Does it work well? Is the Manfrotto screw long enough to work with the rubber gasket? I use a 5d Mark iii. Does the battery cover get blocked?
I have a Canon 7d and that is exactly the way I use is. No issues what so ever.

I just got it and didn't try it yet but I see no reason why it won't work. I am sure it will and it will help holding the camera securly while taking it out of the holder.
