Tilta FF-T03 Overview

The Tilta FF-T03 15mm Follow Focus can be mounted on any 15mm rod system and allows you to make smooth focus adjustments. Fluid movement ensures smooth control, and two hard stops ensure precision adjustment.

Included with the follow focus are five flexible gears for your lens and 0.5, 0.6, and 08 MOD drive gears. And if you like to operate your system from a distance, a crank handle and 12” whip are both included.

I was initially pleased with this unit. After a few months, it started leaking grease / oil around the inside gasket. I sent it to Tilta and they repaired it. When it got back it had too much play in the ring. So when you started to move it, it required a few degrees of movement before it engaged. I switched over to their cheaper unit when I needed it. I just went back to this one and again it's leaking. Maybe I got a lemon?

This follow focus unit is top-notch. It feels great to use, the gears move smoothly, and the hard stops are great. The added accessories such as the crank are also really nice. It is, however, very, very large and isn't well suited for a shoulder rig. You will definitely need some form of counterweight on the other side, should you make the decision to shoulder it. It works great on a tripod rig though! My oly gripe would be that it doesn't appear to be able to be height adjusted. If it can, it's just not obvious to me.

Since there's no manual when I bought this. How do you adjust this to work on larger sized lens like an 82mm? The wheel just goes over 360* degrees making the hard stop useless. Any ideas?

According to Tilta, you cannot reverse the follow focus rotation on the FF-T03.

Is it possible to unmount the FF from the 15mm ...

Is it possible to unmount the FF from the 15mm rod adaptor and mount it on a 19mm Tilta rod adaptor?

We do not recommend it because It is not designed to do that. This doesn't mean that it is impossible to mount the follow focus to a 19mm rod adaptor but you would likely lose the ability to easily slide left and right to accommodate different diameter lenses. Not to mention it would void the warranty in the event something happened to your follow focus as a result of this modification.
