does this silk have a seam in the silk as the artificial silk does?
There is an edge seam but it's china silk which is very delicate unlike the more sturdy artificial silk... keep an eye on this rag as it can get runs or tears pretty quickly, I would advise getting it's own 8x8 small bag for storage and safe keeping.

Do these have grommets across the sides as well as the corners? Or only the corners (4 grommets)?
This fabric, like other Matthews textiles in the same size, would have grommets all around.

According to the manufacturer China Silk has a seam at the 5' mark. for a 6x6' its 5' and 1'. For a 8x8' it would be 5' and 3'.

China silk is approx 1.0 Stop and Artificial is denser at 1.6 Stop
