FotodioX EOS-LM Overview

The Adapter for Canon EF and EF-S Lens to Leica M-Series Digital Camera from FotodioX allows a Canon EF and EF-S lens to attach to a Leica M-series camera body and Ricoh M-mount A-12 module. Leica M-series cameras include the Leica M-Monochrome, M8.2, M9, M9-P, M10.

Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or other electronic functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. Manual or aperture priority mode must be used when this adapter is attached. Its all-metal design and polished surface provide smooth mounting and long lasting performance.

Works as intended. Allows use of Canon macro lens on Leica body.

Works well with my Canon 100mm Macro connected to my M240 Leica. Only caveat is no AF and you only shoot at 2.8. The other thing is you have to use liveview to focus and compose properly. For 20 some dollars it was a no-brainer and works well enough for me.

I have a zeiss EF mount 50mm with the iris controlled internally by the camera. Will this adapter allow control of the iris even though the iris in not manual on the lens like the nikon or leica versions of this lens?

This adapter is fully manual and does not transfer any electronics to the camera. You will not have f/stop control. The lens and the adapter do not have an f/stop ring or iris.

On the lens. It's use is only to attach the lens without any interaction with the camera.

How does this adapter work with rangefinder ...

How does this adapter work with rangefinder focusing? Does it pull up any frame lines? Last question - would it be better recommended to use an EVF or live view on say an m10 in order to appropriate use this lens?

It does NOT work with rangefinder focusing Yes, you can use it with LV to use manual focus on the lens.

The FotodioX Canon EF and EF-S Lens to Leica M-Series adapter will work with any M-mount camera; film M-mount cameras included. Keep in mind that EF-S lenses will vignette on 35mm film cameras. The adapter will allow you to retain focus at infinity, so shouldnt affect focus.

The FotodioX Adapter for Canon EF and EF-S Lens to Leica M-Series Digital Camera would allow one to mount Canon EF or EF-S lenses onto a Leica M mount digital camera. The adapter would not be compatible with a Canon camera such as the 40D.
