FotodioX Pro Nikon F Large Format 4 x 5 Adapter
Key Features
  • Mounts Nikon F Camera to 4 x 5 Camera
  • Infinity Focus for Lenses 120mm & Longer
The Pro Nikon F Large Format 4x5 Adapter from Fotodiox allows you to attach your Nikon F SLR or DSLR camera onto many types of 4 x 5 cameras. The offset adapter allows you to move your camera's sensor vertically and horizontally so you can take multiple photos covering the entire 4 x 5 back and then stitching them together with software. Incremental markings help you position the camera and a tension screw lock keeps your camera from moving while shooting. You can also shoot only in the middle of the back, thereby shooting in the sweet spot of the lens, giving you edge-to-edge sharpness. Additionally, it will provide infinity focus for lenses 120mm and longer.

FotodioX NIKF-4X5-PRO Reviews

Fits My Cambo SC. Has Uses And Limitations.

To Make It Fit My Cambo SC I Had To Loosen The 4 Screws On The Graflok Mounts About A Quarter Turn, Then Put The Back On, Then Tighten The Screws. Now It Works Fine. It Doesn't Work Well With Wide Angle Lenses Because The Sensor Gets Pushed Back Too Far From The Lens For It To Focus, Even With A Bag Bellows, A 30mm Recessed Lens Board, And The Front And Rear Standards Of The Camera Right Up Against Each Other. With A 72mm Lens The Farthest Away That I Could Focus Was About 6 Inches. With A 90mm Lens I Could Focus About A Foot Away. It Can Focus On Things Closer Than That But Not Farther. With A 210mm It Worked Fine. Those Are The Only Lenses I Currently Have. Something Else To Keep In Mind Is That You Can Use The Shift, Rise And Fall Of Your Camera Back To Make An Even Bigger Image. Then You'll Be Stitching More Pieces Together Though. It's A Bit Ambitious To Use On A 35mm Camera Body Because Of The Lens/focus Limitations. It's Also Only Good For Still Life Because You Have To Stitch Multiple Exposures Together. I Think The One For The Hasselblad V Mount Back Is Probably More Practical To Use Because The Sensor Doesn't Get Pushed So Far Away (which Helps With The Wider Lenses). The Major Downside To That Of Course Is The Cost Of The Hasselblad Digital Back. However, This One Provides A Budget-friendly Way To Get Higher Resolution Images Using Your 35mm Digital Camera As Long As You Are Willing To Accept The Limitations.

Disappointed, so far.

Ordered in March, delivered in July. Click stop orientation to camera was not accurate making stitched images of verticle/horizontal lines appear jagged. Bottom flange different dimension than top flange making it difficult to mount. Had to send back at my expense for warranty repair/replacement. Will not work with this company again.

Can you use wider lenses with a bag bellows and recessed lens board?
Asked by: John
The FotodioX Pro Nikon F Large Format 4 x 5 Adapter using lenses wider than 120 mm will prevent the Infinity Focus. It is not recommended to use wider lenses.

question

Does this work on the canham DLC 45 camera?
Asked by: Mike
Unfortunately, I have no specification data on the Canham DLC 45. My experience relating this adapter is to use on Linhof Technika 45 camera and Sony alpha 7R. I modified the adapter to fit for Sony camera. It dose work very well. If the Canham DLC 45 has a same size of film back as Linhof and you use long focus lenses more than 150mm, it will be recommended. Under the recent difficult situation to get a film, this adapter will save your indispensable camera and lenses.

question

Asked by: Anonymous
You are not buying this to replicate that which can be done on digital but to take advantage of the tilt/shift/swing/rise and fall of the highly mobile monorail cameras. I have attached by Z7 mirrorless on a Horseman L45 and it looks wonderful!
