question

Does it work in Europe?
Asked by: Anonymous
Depends, in Europe normally voltage is 240V, and 50 Hz., not 120V and 60 Hz, like here. You will need adapters to use it in Europe. The monitor is excellent, I am very happy with it. Emilio

Do I need an adapter for a non-retina late 2013 21.5 iMac? Or do the included cables connect straight to it?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, it is included in the box, similar to PA272W. http://www.necdisplay.com/communications/0616_NEC_BestDisplays.html

question

Can the Spyder4ELITE be use to calibrate this monitor?
Asked by: Kathy
I use an Xrite ColorMunki Photo to calibrate my monitor. It works just fine. Check with NEC to confirm but I expect the Spyder will also perform well.

question

I have this monitor (NEC PA242W-BK 24) along with Spectraview and the included colorimeter. I also bought the ColorMunki Colorimeter/Spectrophotometer for building printer profiles. Is it better to calibrate the monitor with Spectraview and build profiles with Colormunki, or is it better to use ColorMunki for both?
Asked by: Stephen J.
The Spectraview software uses hardware in the monitor to adjust color response rather than the graphic card. It's able to provide finer gradations. I have the NEC PA 241W-BK and use my Colormunki with SpectraView II for my monitor and the ColorMunki software for making printer/paper profiles. You don't have to buy the colorimeter with the monitor if you have a Colormunki, Just buy the software.

question

Can my LACIE blue eye pro be used to calibrate this monitor?
Asked by: David J.
Hi, there. I am sorry but I don't know if Lacie blue eye works with the NEC monitor.I use x rite i1 display for calibration because it is compatible with NEC monitor. You should probably check the compatibility of the product either with the Lacie or NEC company. Sorry that I could not help you...!

I would presume you could. I have used an X-Rite Color Munki to calibrate mine and it works just fine.
