Mackie 1402-VLZ4 Reviews

No manual in the box; Main Out Level push button removed

I'm setting this up and haven't turned it on yet. First thoughts that I don't like compared to the original 1402 which I bought new 22 years ago. On the old model I like the fader buttons better (total white in color). Regarding the Main Out Level on the back - the removal of the push button is another thing I don't like. So how am I supposed to know which of the two settings the new switch is set to? What is the default? It isn't very convenient to have to push in this switch with a needlenose pliers or a screwdriver. Also, I did not get a operator's manual in the box, only the Quick Start Guide.

Great Job

question

is it compitable with mac?
Asked by: Mehmet Hamdi B.
The mixer will connect to most computers with the proper analog cable connections. There is no direct communication with the computers OS that will require compatibility.

question

Is the gain from this mixer sufficient for use with vintage ribbon microphones, such as the RCA77Dx? Thanks.
Asked by: Robert
Tough to tell. I use a Heil PR 40 and do have to crank up the gain a bit. Great mixer and clean sound. Its worth giving it a try.
