Photoflex Adjustable Rotating ShoeMount Syste... Overview

The Photoflex Adjustable Rotating ShoeMount System allows for the use of a shoe-mount flash with a Photoflex softbox. This system features a rotating dual flash connector ring for a softbox, redesigned shoe mount hardware kit, and a redesigned heavy-duty aluminum swivel with 5/8" receiver for use with most light stands.

This connecting ring for a softbox is designed to rotate around the flash unit. Also, the shoe mount hardware kit features two shoe mounts for attaching both a flash and a radio for wireless triggering. An optional third shoe mount hardware kit can be attached for using two flash units and the radio receiver simultaneously.

I purchased this item because I wanted to rig a custommade small strobe head using Speedotron - MW24Q 2400W/s Flashtube(this has 1/4-20 screw) for Profoto as a small light source with chimera soft box. the strobe head that I made is lighter than conventional speedlite for Nikon or Canon, and has 1/4-20 screw. This product has plastic collar/housing which is not strong enough for extended use. If this part was strong, it would be a great item!!!

This system really needs the second shoe mount always sold separately. I really thought there were 2 mounts with the system. So I later bought the second mount. Works well.

Will this work for the medium silverdome nxt? Or is that only for hotlights?

Yes, the Photoflex Adjustable Rotating ShoeMount System would allow you to use a hot shoe speedlight flash with the Photoflex Medium SilverDome nxt (24.5 x 32 x 17 ).

It's not clear to me if this comes with two brackets so I can mount two speed lights on it or not. Can anybody help me with that?

It comes with 1 bracket to hold only 1 speed light and a remote. If you wish to have 2 speed lights you need to order an extra bracket. Works great with my Photoflex Lite Dome soft box.
