Zacuto Z-AEM overview

  • 1Description

A versatile and adjustable means for mounting an EVF, the Zacuto Axis is designed to mount atop your camera rig while leaving ample room for adjusting focus or controlling other aspects of your camera. The Axis mounts to any Z-Rail or similar compatible rail accessory and can be securely locked into place using the quick release ratcheting lever. For mounting the EVF, a 1/4"-20 screw is incorporated into the included quick release mount, and the quick release can attach to any of the four sides of the Axis mount rail for flexible positioning.

Once attached, the Axis' adjustable design utilizes three main pivoting points, which can spin a full 360° and are controlled using independent tension levers. With all levers unlocked, you can freely position the EVF at will, or specific sections can be tightened down for fine-tuned adjustments on a single axis.

    Zacuto Z-AEM reviews

Axis Adjustable EVF Mount is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I used to have a RedRock Micro shoulder rig and used a friction arm to mount my EVF. It always would start slipping and would need to keep adjusting it. Zacuto's arm is VERY well crafted and is a better quality for sure. I was skeptical because of the cost at first, but decide to take the leap. Glad I did. This thing can mount the EVF on top or underslung. It can even hold a monitor well. What is also great is the way how you can use tension levers to what you are comfortable with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid! First I do not get Zacutos pricing.... this is $$for all these moving parts, locks, clamps, fluid damped joints but they charge over $100 for a set of 15mm rails Anyway, this thing rocks! its like having a solid mounted EVF but I can pul it around to all sorts of positions as needed.....slider on the ground and no need break my neck getting down into screen view.... shoulder mounted camera put EVF forward camera weight back and I canto all day... even on the tripod its been great raising the EVF vs. benign down, I am much smoother panning and tilting standing than crouching) Its a kickstand, I can finally set my cameras (fs700 and fs100) down if I need to and not have it roll over on its side (sounds silly but its a big deal) Downside would be for many small cameras and DSLRs you would need a cage or something to mount this to... I can't see having 20 inches of reach hanging of the hot shoe. Mount any NATO rail to the top of a camera with a couple screws and you are good to go (fits both the FS100 and FS700 like that) I opted for the half cage just so I have a fat handle (I shot sports and am always walking from spot to spot)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality as expected Zacuto doesn't disappoint. This is a high quality arm and it works very well with my Zacuto EVF.
