How does one handle phantom power when splitting the signal into 2 inputs? Would you enable phantom power on both inputs or just one of the two to power a Sennheiser MKH 50? I would like to feed my boom dialog mic into 2 inputs on a Zoom H6, and run one input hot and the other about 10 db less for safety. I know the Zoom offers a back up file record, but it is only on the non phantom powered inputs.
No, you cannot split the signal from a microphone before it is amplified. A microphone forms an integral circuit with the first amplifier it is connected to. After that it can be split. This cable is for splitting the output of sound board (which is an amplifier) to two separate audio inputs.
