The Senal SCS-98 DSLR/Video Stereo Microphone features a matched pair of cardioid condenser capsules that are arranged in an XY pattern to achieve accurate, natural stereo imaging. This makes it ideal for location recording, broadcast applications, live performances and capturing soundscapes in outdoor environments.
Compact and lightweight, the SCS-98 attaches to your camera's shoe mount and plugs directly into its audio input, or your portable recorder's microphone input, to capture pristine audio with realistic stereo imaging for your video productions.
The 80 Hz high-pass filter helps prevent the microphone from picking up disruptive low-frequency noise, while the three-level gain switch provides a +10 dB boost, 0 dB unity gain, or a -10 dB pad. The -10 dB pad can be used for recording louder sound sources without distortion, while the +10 dB boost can be used to achieve a higher gain signal to avoid having to use the noisy preamps aboard many cameras and camcorders, resulting in a much cleaner recording.
The SCS-98 also boasts a dual shockmount design. The two back electret condenser capsules are enclosed within a rubber decoupling system inside the microphone. This, combined with the integrated shockmount, isolates the microphone from handling noise, providing maximum isolation from vibrations and mechanical noise. The SCS-98 also features an integrated shoe-mount with a 1/4"-20 threaded socket, which lets you mount it onto a camera or boompole. In addition, a male 1/4"-20 to female 3/8" adapter is also included. The durable, 7" coiled output cable is terminated with a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo output connector and is shielded for maximum protection against interference.
