The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Sony A is a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing for attaching a follow focus unit. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

Is this lens will work on a Panasonic GH4 with metabones adapter of course?
Yes, you can use this Rokinon 16mm Nikon F mount lens on a GH4. However, there is no Metabones adapter available to do this. Metabones Nikon F to MTF adapters are for Blackmagic cameras only unfortunately. Of the others available, the expensive but superb MTF Services Ltd Nikon G to Micro 4/3 Adapter B&H # MTNIKGM43 is the one we recommend. It is beautifully made, will hold the lens perfectly for infinity focus and will do so for years of hard professional use.

Whats the main difference between this lens and the new released model Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine DS Lens for Nikon EF Mount for APS-C ? (This lens is $119 cheaper).

Does the cine version have the electronic contacts that the standard version does? The manual seems to imply not. Actually I want a lens without those contacts as they make time lapse on my D5100 more awkward (trying to avoid aperture flicker)
This is a manual lens that does not offer any electronic communication between the camera and the lens.

Is this lens good for a Nikon D3100?
The lens will physically fit on the camera giving the equivalent of a 24mm field of view. However, be aware that the lens is a manual focus/aperture lens and for still images will only work in Manual mode. For video it is excellent because it allows you to bypass the live view/locked aperture problem inherent on entry level Nikons.
