AMD Announces Radeon 9000 Series Graphics Cards for Gamers and Creators

Leveraging over 25 years of computing experience, AMD announces its latest Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards, bringing new technologies such as RDNA 4 architecture to gaming enthusiasts, creators, and developers. With a strong history within the PC, console, mobile, and handheld spaces, AMD looks to deliver not just but ensures positive performance-per-dollar ratio for customers all over the world.

RDNA 4

Taking their design architecture to the next level with RDNA 4, AMD integrates various processing and programming protocols directly into the chiplet design of their GPU node. RDNA 4 brings faster command processing, advanced shader programming, and enhanced ray and path tracing to the forefront. Machine learning assisted rendering works with enhanced memory compression to deliver greater details within virtual environments while maintaining overall performance. Not only that, but AMD utilizes their 2nd Gen AMD Radiance Display and Media Engines to bring greater performance to their HV1 and H264 codecs, giving media editors and live streamers greater bandwidth and smoother visual feedback.

Most importantly, AMD ensures that RDNA 4 technology will bring greater visual fluidity with FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, which is already available for over 400 games.  When paired with RDNA 4, the latest FSR4 will use new technologies to provide an even smoother experience. This is backed by machine learning upscaling and high-quality performance with low latency. Naturally, AMD looks into the future with preparations for neural rendering technology as that grows over time.

At launch, FSR4 will support over 30 games including popular titles like Marvel Rivals, Call of Duty: Warzone, Kingdom Come Deliverance II, and many more. Over 75 additional titles developed by studios including Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Saber, Activision, and many more.

Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT

Both the RX 9070 and the RX 9070 XT have a few similarities when it comes to their core designs. Both will support higher 1440p and 4K resolutions, offer integrated ray tracing technologies, and the previously mentioned FSR4. Additionally, both cards are easy drop-in upgrades as they utilize the standard 8-pin connector which removes the need for any specialized cable. Additionally, both cards will offer support for DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b video output protocols.

Giving users a significant performance increase in an upwards of up to 21% with super resolution, the RX 9070 can support not just 1080p resolution, but also provide support for both 1440p and 4K. This is due to the overall build of the graphics card which includes 56 compute units, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, a boost clock speeds up to 2520 MHz, 1165 AI TOPS rating, at 220W board power.

For those wanting more power, the RX 9070 XT can produce additional power with greater components to deliver an even greater experience. The RX 9070 XT comes with 64 compute units, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, max boost clock speed of 2970 MHz, 1557 peak AI TOPS rating, at 304W board power—delivering  up a performance increase up to 38% at 1440p resolution and up to 3-times increased performance at 4K resolution with super resolution.

While gamers will find this to be a rather large performance increase, creators will see a significant step up with creative workloads when using Creator AI applications. Adobe Lightroom and Davinci Resolve both see greater performance returns along with generative AI applications like Amuse FLUX, Computer Vision, and Procyon.

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 will have a starting MSRP of $540 while the RX 9070 XT starts at $599. Both cards, along with board partner cards, will be available on March 6. Board partners like ASUS and Gigabyte will offer overclocked variants with higher wattages along with standard models.
