Aruba is expanding its line of Instant On line into the next generation of wireless networking with the launch the AP22, its first Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual-channel access point, designed to provide offices, schools, retail stores, and small businesses with the bandwidth and performance needed to support the growing number of mobile devices in use. With a maximum aggregate data rate of 1.7 Gb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, which is about 4x the capacity of Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), the AP22 provides smooth and fast wireless network experiences for hybrid classrooms and hotels alongside retail and hospitality businesses. Additionally, the AP22 is backward compatible, capable of simultaneously serving multiple 802.11ac and 802.11ax devices while its powerful omni-directional antennae use Beamforming and other technologies to help ensure far-reaching coverage and a reliable signal. Built-in filtering reduces interference from cellular networks.
Using the Aruba Instant On app allows you to manage your network from almost anywhere, anytime. Features include removing unknown devices and bandwidth hogs from the network, opening guest networks, and blocking certain applications. The user experience can also be customized with logos, authentications, and rules of use that include fixed bandwidth rates and app-specific data allowances. Your network is secured by a built-in firewall and WPA2 / WPA3 authentication, in addition to an integrated Trust Platform Module that stores credentials, keys, and boot codes.
The Instant On AP22 access point may be mounted on a wall or ceiling using its included clip, and adding the Flush Mount Sleeve will help it to blend in even more with the surrounding environment. It can be powered through its PoE-compatible Gigabit Ethernet uplink port or using a 12V DC adapter. Combining the AP22 with additional Smart Mesh Wi-Fi devices allows you to expand your wireless coverage without having to run cumbersome and unsightly Ethernet cables while users enjoy a secure, seamless experience as they move from place to place.
