Today, Facebook announced upgraded versions of the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset that will feature new storage options and a new silicone facial cover.
The upgraded Oculus Quest 2 will now feature a minimum of 128GB of internal storage, which is twice as much as the original 64GB minimum. 256GB remains the maximum amount of internal storage available.
The new models will also include a new silicone facial covering. The updated facial covering is in response to the recent report that the Quest 2’s original foam insert caused a small percentage of users some degree of skin irritation. According to Facebook, the new silicone covering should prevent further irritation from occurring. Facebook says the silicone cover fits over the Quest 2's removable foam facial interface.
Both the 128GB and 256GB versions of the Oculus Quest 2 will be available for preorder on August 24th at B&H.
You will also be able to preorder an updated version Oculus Quest 2 Fit Pack, which will also include the new silicone facial cover.
