In an effort to better accommodate those who are working with the recording and editing of high track-count audio sessions, as well as those who are editing video or even just looking for external media on which to store generic files, Glyph Technologies has recently updated two of their product lines - the Studio mini and StudioRAID mini – to include additional storage capacity options. The Studio mini now also offers users 3TB, 4TB, and 5TB drives, while the StudioRAID mini has added 6TB, 8TB, and 10TB offerings. While the Studio mini houses one drive, the StudioRAID mini houses two drives and the overall capacity is evenly split between them.
Both the Studio mini and StudioRAID mini utilize 5400 rpm SATA hard drives, have micro-USB 3.0, FireWire 800, and eSATA connectivity, utilize bus or AC power, and have fanless cooling. While both product lines come pre-formatted HFS+ for Mac, a simple reformat will enable use with Windows. The StudioRAID mini also comes pre-configured as a RAID 0, which maximizes performance, but at the cost of data redundancy. For those who need data redundancy, RAID 1 is also supported.
If you’ve been looking to make the move to external storage that is more mobile, Glyph Technologies’ Studio mini and StudioRAID mini are worth looking into.
