Improving on its popular compact LED light, Lume Cube has introduced the next-generation Lume Cube 2.0 portable light for photo and video production, a two-pack kit, the LC2 Portable Lighting Kit PLUS, and the LC2 Professional Lighting Kit. The previous Lume Cube introduced a tiny LED light, which was ideal for on-camera field production, flash photography, and capturing drone footage, and the new Lume Cube 2.0 features improvements in several areas to make an even greater impact on your production.
The Lume Cube 2.0 is the same size and weight as its predecessor, and it retains 750-lux brightness, Bluetooth connectivity, the photo flash function, and a 1/4"-20 mounting thread. The 2.0 model now features numerous changes and improvements, such as a higher CRI of 95 that shows more accurate color rendering, a 40-minute battery run time at 100% brightness, nearly double that of its predecessor, and a new low-light mode. Changes include a fixed 5600K daylight color temperature, a wider 80° beam angle, and the charging port is now USB Type-C. The housing has also changed to include a back rubber plug rather than a screw cap, causing its waterproof rating to plunge from 100' to only 30'. However, the rubber plug now provides quicker and easier access to the charging port. An improvement to the buttons allows you to control the brightness levels with up and down controls, rather than with cycle control on the previous model.
One of the biggest improvements from the original is that the Lume Cube 2.0 comes with multiple accessories that were previously sold separately. In addition to the USB Type-C charging cable, it now includes the metal, snap-on modification frame, which allows you to add and remove magnetic filters and attachments quickly, a warming CTO gel, a soft diffuser, and a shoe-mount adapter that allows you to mount the light on your camera's shoe mount. For those who need a variety of light-modification attachments, the new LC2 Portable Lighting Kit PLUS includes the Lume Cube 2.0 and its base accessories, as well as two CTO warming gels, an extra flat white diffuser, a diffusion bulb, four RGBY color gels, two honeycomb grids, a snoot, a barndoor set, and a zipper case. The expanded LC2 Professional Lighting Kit includes two Lume Cube 2.0 lights, two modification frames, four Lee flat white diffusers, four CTO warming gels, four RGBY color gels, two honeycomb grids, two barndoor sets, two snoots, two diffusion bulbs, a USB charger, and a carry case with a custom-cut foam insert.
