Panasonic brings more networking and imaging improvements to their Professional line of studio and broadcast cameras with the new box-style AK-UBX100 4K Multi-Purpose Camera. Featuring an impressive 19.29MP MOS image sensor alongside multiple 12G-SDI and fiber outputs, the camera is compatible with SMPTE ST 2110 standards, NDI High Bandwidth streaming, and more.

Much of the internals of the UBX100 have been brought over from Panasonic’s AK-UCX100 studio camera, though instead of a shoulder-mount design, the UBX100 has a box-style build with flat sides, plenty of thread mounts, and a total weight of only 4.2 lb (versus the UCX100’s 10.03 lb). That makes it much easier to mount on gimbals, cranes, robotic PTZ heads, ceiling rigging, and more. Not only will the image out of the UBX100 match up with the UCX100, the networking control platform and menu interfaces are the same.

The UBX100 uses oversampling for 2000 TV-line resolution output with 2000 lux sensitivity and a 62 dB signal-to-noise ratio. Expect a B4 lens mount, two 12G-SDI outputs, two SFP+/28 slots, a built-in OLPF, built-in ND filters, a 12-pin lens terminal, and a 10-pin remote terminal, alongside Genlock, Tally, LAN, XLR 4-pin power, and an HD-SDI output. Announced in September 2025, the UBX100 is now shipping. Whether you’re shooting live sports, conferences, high-end studio work, or anything with large LED walls, the camera is worth a look.
