Logitech G returns to the fray with its new PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse. Featuring unique, minimalistic theming and lightweight design, the X2 challenges the status quo, bringing forth a new era of mouse technology. I had the opportunity to give this mouse a test run, and I will say that this is my favorite competitive mouse of all time.
Floats Like a Butterfly …
When the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE hit my hand, the first thing I noticed was how lightweight it was. Coming in at 2.15 ounces (61 grams), the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE weighs less than the average NYC bagel with cream cheese. The idea behind this design philosophy has always been maneuverability, which is essential for acquiring your targets in various high-stakes games. Whether you are playing first-person shooters, MOBAs, or anything that pits you against other players, the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE makes an excellent weapon in your gaming arsenal.

From a distance, the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE seems like a typical lightweight gaming mouse, but it is so much more. My first impression of the device surprised me as it felt like I was holding air, or a crushed-up paper ball. I clicked the left and right buttons to find absolute silence. Even the dual side buttons felt basic to me. But looks can be deceiving, as I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE in and witnessed the exquisite and immersive concept that fuels this device.
… Stings Like a Bee
There is a lot going on under the shell of the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE. For starters, we have the famous HERO 2 sensor, which offers a high-resolution tracking of 100 to 44,000 dpi sensitivity. It also offers 88 Gs of maximum acceleration, 888 IPS max speed, and a maximum LIGHTSPEED report rate up to 8000 Hz (with a standard 1000 Hz report rate). These are all signs of a great competitive mouse. There are also two buttons on the inner left side of the mouse that can be customized using the free LOGITECH G HUB software.

Under the left and right click buttons we have the Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS). Competitive gaming is all about speed without compromising comfort. Here, HITS technology revolves around replacing traditional microswitches. Instead, we have a new haptic feedback system similar to what we saw in the professional-grade Logitech MX Master 4.
HITS changes the game completely and for the first time in my 35-plus years of gaming, I was truly impressed by what a gaming mouse could offer. I clicked the left button and felt the haptic engine underneath react to the actuation force that I applied. Of course, this was able to be fine-tuned to my liking, and I quickly found myself playing around with all the settings. Actuation point, rapid trigger, and click haptic options can all be adjusted using Logitech G HUB, along with other settings.

The Right Hooks
After tuning my settings, I decided to test the X2 out on Bungie’s newest game, Marathon. While Logitech is not associated with Bungie at all, I found the X2 captured Marathon’s style to a point where it practically begs to be used for this game.
Since Marathon is a first-person extraction shooter, I was able to optimally test the HITS feature. The right button brings up my weapon so I can aim down the sights and the left button acts as the trigger button. Every press unloaded a slew of plasma and energy bursts into my foes while also making me feel like I am actually performing the action in a dynamic way. I was also able to take semi-automatic shots from weapons that are typically set for automatic firing mode. This is because of how the reactive haptics feel, adding that sense of immersion into your experience.
A Total Knockout
The HERO 2 sensor combined with HITS technology makes the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE a great mouse, but there are some additional features that should also be recognized. For travelers, you can stow the USB dongle away under the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE for convenient travel. The X2’s built-in battery promises up to hours of gametime on a full charge—although this can change depending on the HITS settings. You can charge the X2 with the included USB-A to USB-C charging cable or, for greater ease, you can use the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE with the POWERPLAY 2 Wireless Charging Mat so you’ll never have to worry about the battery life at all!
Overall, I highly recommend the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE. It feels comfortable and transformed the way I play competitive games. It is light, fast, and has the “wow” factor that transformed this skeptic into a full-on believer! Granted, I should have known better since it is Logitech G after all.
