Carson’s New Open-Bridge RD Binoculars

Carson Optical’s new RD Binocular Series has an ergonomic open-bridge design that shaves off weight and allows for a more comfortable grip, making your day in the field more enjoyable. The five models feature BAK4 prisms and multicoated lenses for a bright, sharp image, and present generous fields of view. The two compact models are ideal for concerts, festivals, sporting events, and sightseeing: the 8x26 RD, a 10-ounce, 4.7 x 4.5" binocular that slips easily into a pocket, bag or pack, and the 10x34 RD, offering more magnification and a brighter objective lens, but still highly portable at 5 x 5" and 14 ounces. Full-size models for birding, boating, hunting, and general use include the 8x42 RD, an excellent all-around choice with ample magnification and a generous objective; the 10x42 RD, with more magnification for long-distance glassing, and the 10x50 RD, which offers both powerful magnification and the biggest front lenses in the line, for seeing distant details in low-light conditions like dawn, dusk, and heavy forest canopies. All the RDs have lightweight but sturdy aluminum housings wrapped in sporty, grippy green rubber armoring. All of them are O-ring-sealed waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging. Twist-up eyecups and 16/17mm eye relief, depending on the model, accommodate users who wear glasses. A tripod adapter is available for the RD series, for long observation sessions or hands-free use. Each RD model comes with lens covers, a neck strap and a hard-shell protective carry case.
