Lowepro seems to expand and upgrade its bags nearly every week, making sure to offer photographers the best possible systems for carrying their gear. Today, the company has launched a variety of products, including FreeLine series backpacks for every day, the more rugged Whistler series for adventurous types, and the GearUp series pouches to protect all your odds and ends.
What you need today can be completely different tomorrow. This seems to be the motivation behind the FreeLine BP 350 AW Backpack. The key to this pack's success lies in the QuickShelf divider system because it can be quickly unfolded to create a padded three-tier shelf, or snapped flat and out of the way, for using the bag as a standard pack. This shelving system can be customized and is wide enough to support a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. An integrated Gear Box at the bottom will handle all your odds and ends with ease, while dual-side access panels then make it easy to get your gear when you need it. Near the back of the bag is a CradleFit pocket to hold laptops up to 15" in size, while the ActivZone Back Panel provides greater comfort. The FreeLine series will handle the elements quite well, because it comprises Nylon 66 exterior fabric with water and abrasion-resistant carbonate coating, as well as YKK weatherproof zippers. It also has an All Weather AW Cover for the rainiest of days.
Looking for a bag as tough as you and your adventures? Check out the second-generation Whistler series. Designed to handle all four seasons, these packs will keep your gear safe and help you carry any other needed equipment. The upgrades for this generation include 20% more interior space, a CradleFit laptop compartment, top and body side access to the camera section, dual-density harness design, and simplified attachment points and routing for compression straps. Already a great bunch of packs, these changes make them better.
Two versions are being made, the Whistler BP 350 AW II and the larger Whistler BP 450 AW II. Both feature 420 ripstop nylon with TPU/PU dual laminate, glove-friendly Nifco side-release buckles, and a secure mount on each side for full-size tripods. The back panel uses the ActivZone System for comfort and there is a dual density foam used in the straps and hip belt. The main compartment is then accessible via a hinged back panel for less exposure to the elements. The main differences come regarding size, with the 350 being able to hold a 13" laptop, a pro DSLR/mirrorless, four lenses, a drone, and plenty of accessories. The 450 can support a pro DSLR/mirrorless with battery grip, four lenses, drone, 15" laptop, flash, and more.

Don't forget about your smaller, but critical, accessories and pick up the GearUp Memory Wallet 20 and GearUp Filter Pouch 100. Memory cards are among the most important items in your kit, so treat them right with the Memory Wallet. Able to hold 12 CF or XQD cards and eight SD cards, this compact organizer will keep them protected as you transport your gear. The Filter Pouch 100 will support up to 10 filters up to 100 x 150 mm, two circular filters up to 72mm, and one filter holder.
