Tokina Launches Full-Frame E-Mount FíRIN Line with 20mm f/2 Lens

Taking their first dive into the full-frame mirrorless pool, Tokina has just launched the FíRIN 20mm f/2 FE MF Lens as the first in a series of lenses for Sony E-mount cameras. Designed to pair perfectly with the smaller form factor of mirrorless, this manual-focus optic offers a compact and lightweight build along with high-end performance thanks to an array of special elements. Also, it provides a super-wide perspective and fast maximum aperture that will make it a useful tool under a range of shooting conditions.

In order to ensure optimal performance, this lens incorporates two all-glass precision-molded aspherical elements and three super-low dispersion glass elements that help reduce the impact of chromatic aberration and minimize light fall-off. All of the elements in the lens use a multi-coating that will combat ghosting and flare. Also, it has an 11” minimum focus distance for getting close to your subject.

The FíRIN 20mm lens features electronic contacts that can transmit aperture, distance, and focus information to the camera, allowing it to work seamlessly with manual-focus assists, in-body image stabilization, and electronic focusing scales. Also, the manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth and quiet exposure adjustment while shooting video. This pairs nicely with the large, manual focusing ring for outstanding tactile control over the lens. Additionally, it comes with a square lens hood and offers a 62mm front filter thread.

NOT impressed! I want to see non-native AUTO-focus lenses! I already have all the adapters I need for everything else. I need fast-focus, maybe even stabilized, auto-focus lenses that don't break the bank. Any idiot can make manual focus lenses, and their are a lot of options in the market from lots of manufacturers. Ground breaking are the AUTO-FOCUS Lenses. Just how many times must I say this? This is what the public is waiting for!!!!!!!!!!
