Tokina Takes Sony Shooters to Life-sized Macro, with the FiRIN 100mm f/2.8

No stranger to the 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, Tokina has raised the bar with its newest FiRIN lens—the Tokina FiRIN 100mm f/2.8 Macro—for Sony E-mount full-frame photographers. The FiRIN 100mm macro lens offers 1:1 life-sized reproduction at a minimum focus distance of 4.5" from the lens, which is fully electronically coupled to the Sony camera, allowing for 5-axis image stabilization, manual focus assist, auto image enlargement, focus peaking, and electronic distance bar.

As with many top macro lenses, the FiRIN macro lens is a “flat-field” optical design. Field curvature is reduced to zero for precision macro work and excellent edge-to-edge sharpness. The optics are fully coated to reduce light falloff, control chromatic aberration, and reduced flare and ghosting. The lens features 9 elements in 8 groups and weighs just a bit more than 20 oz.

At the 100mm focal length, with a wide f/2.8 aperture, this versatile lens will also excel at portraiture, telephoto landscape work, and video, in addition to its macro capabilities.
