Westcott Announces FJ400 Strobe and FJ-X2m Universal Wireless Trigger

Westcott is making a serious push into the world of portable strobes with a pair of new releases: the FJ400, a portable but powerful strobe equally at home in the studio or out on assignment and the FJ-X2m universal wireless trigger, a versatile remote capable of working across multiple camera systems.

Able to produce up to 400Ws of power over 480 times per charge, the FJ400 is ready to pack a punch when needed. If you are just looking for a little fill, nine stops of power adjustment, selectable in 1 or 0.1-stop increments, or easy-to-tweak output, the FJ400 has you covered. Using its straightforward LCD interface, you can select Manual or TTL flash modes and the FJ400 supports High Speed Sync up to 1/8000s, Freeze Sync to 1/19000s, or Continuous Capture up to 20 fps. There are memory recall, delay, and mask functions, as well. A recycle speed of less than one second keeps pace with even quick-moving subjects. A removable lithium polymer battery offers DC power and AC trickle-charge when plugged in and above 25%. A 20W, 5600K built-in modeling light helps when setting up shots. The FJ400 has a Bowens S-Type mount for modifiers and includes a magnetic 5" reflector, magnetic CCT Gel Set, diffusion dome, and Rapid Box Switch Bowens insert.

The new trigger can control up to six groups of lights across 16 channels and can send a signal up to 985'.
