Apogee One for Mac: Two In, Two Out in a Tiny Interface

0Share

Apogee has released the new One for Mac, which supports up to 24-bit/96 kHz operation, features award-winning sound quality, and is designed to work with Mac or iOS devices and Apple’s GarageBand, Logic, Final Cut, or any Core Audio-compliant application.

The One offers two inputs and two outputs in a tiny package and includes a built-in condenser microphone for on-the-go recording. Additionally, a breakout cable offers ¼" and XLR input for instruments and external microphone inputs. The preamps offer a respectable 62 dB of gain for microphones and 45 dB of gain for high-impedance instruments. The unit is capable of recording two tracks simultaneously: the instrument signal and the external microphone, or the instrument signal and an external microphone.

The stereo output is available via balanced 1/8", which allows for the connection to headphones or to external monitors. A single encoder knob provides direct access to the tuned-enclosure microphone, external microphone, instrument selection, and to output functions for input level and volume adjustment. The unit is bus powered, but it can also run on an optional DC adapter. Apogee’s Maestro software provides advanced controls and low-latency mixing. The travel-friendly size makes a great portable solution for capturing musical ideas, rehearsals, podcasts, interviews, voice-overs, and more. Currently, registered Apogee One customers will receive a discount code, good for 25% off a single plug-in or 35% off any Waves bundle, plus an additional $100 credit toward their next Waves plug-in purchase.
