Get Amped Up for New Marshalls!

To guitar players everywhere, Marshall Amplification is a household name. Whether it’s a combo amplifier you’ve got propped up in your bedroom or a full stack you truck with you on a national tour, a Marshall amp gives you a hard-rocking tone you can count on. Luckily, we here at B&H just got some new Marshall toys to play with, and we’re eager to share them with you.

First up are the new entries in Marshall’s DSL series. Available in 1W, 5W, 20W, or 40W versions, each amp offers valve-powered design, an onboard effects loop, switchable power reduction, and two-channel operation. Furthermore, these amps have two independent master volumes, allowing you to change your volume on stage at the stomp of a (separately available) footswitch.

Next we have the MG Gold series, with 10W, 30W, and 50W entries, as well as multiple 15W versions. The 10W MG amplifier is geared toward home practice, with clean and overdrive channels, a headphone output, and a line input for jamming along to your favorite tunes. Both the 30 and 50W entries give you four programmable channels in manual or preset mode, with access to five onboard effects. You can switch through these pre-setup channels on stage, if you like. As for the 15W variants, three versions are offered in accordance with your needs. All offer four-channel operation similar to their bigger brethren, though one gives you all the effects, another offers only reverb, and the third eschews the effects section altogether.

The Origin series boasts a tone that screams Marshall, with valve-powered design and Celestion speakers. Available in 5W, 20W, and 50W iterations, each Origin sports a tilt tone control that changes the voicing of the amp from modern to vintage. You’ll also note the pull-boost feature tied into the volume knob; pull the pull-boost, and you can juice your tone with additional gain.

These amplifiers, coupled with Marshall’s battery-powered MS-2C Micro Amplifiers for street busking and pint-sized practice, all have one thing in common: that Marshall sound, perfect for hard rock, blues, and even some kinds of metal.
