JBL has announced its latest edition to the IRX-Series powered portable PA system, the IRX115S Compact Powered 15" Portable Subwoofer, which has been created to complement the IRX108BT and IRX112BT full-range powered tops. The subwoofer was professionally designed to deliver a smooth, detailed, and deep low-frequency response with ease of use and minimal setup time.
The IRX115S utilizes a 1300W amplifier to power the 15" woofer, which provides a frequency response of 103 to 45 Hz (-3 dB) and a respectable 128 dB SPL. The rear panel offers a master volume knob, two combo XLR-1/4" inputs, and two XLR thru/outputs for sending audio to an external source. There are three user-selectable crossover settings (80, 100, 120 Hz) and a polarity switch to let you dial in the right sound for your room.
Lightweight, at 65.3 lb, the rugged MDF enclosure can withstand the rigors of the road, offering a reinforced grille for added protection without compromising acoustic performance. You’ll also find ergonomic handles for ease in transport. The bass-reflex-ported design enhances output and reduces woofer noise.
The top of the subwoofer features an M20-thread pole mount, which allows you to deploy the IRX108BT, IRX112BT, and other loudspeakers. When combined with the IRX-Series tops, this professionally engineered package can outperform larger competing systems.
