Korg is already well known for designing versatile music-production gear, such as keyboards, synthesizers, and beat machines. Adding to that family with a focus on live performances in clubs, concert venues, and more are two new, very different products—the volca mix analog performance mixer and the KONNECT stereo PA system. Both are built for stage-worthy durability, easy transport, and fast operations.
The volca mixer is an ideal match for a setup with multiple volcas. It features four channels—two mono and one stereo—and plenty of effects, control methods, and monitoring options. It can power and sync up to three volca devices and accept another stereo signal via the dedicated 3.5mm mini-jack input. Each of the mixer channels offers smooth level faders, send knobs (which feed a patchable 3.5mm output), variable lo/hi cut, and mute. The master effects are analog and include adjustable stereo width and compression. Play and tempo controls allow the volca mix to be the master unit of properly connected volcas. Monitor your mix through the built-in speakers or switch them off and plug in your favorite headphones instead. Another route is to connect the stereo RCA line output jacks to a PA for high-powered amplification.
Speaking of PAs, the new KONNECT PA is quite noteworthy. Though it weighs slightly less than 12 pounds, it packs a wallop, pushing 180W of power through a 6.5" woofer and two 1" tweeters. 32-bit digital processing provides multiple audio control and sweetening features including a limiter, feedback suppressor, reverb, and EQ voicing presets. Its "Center Cancel" function attenuates the center signal from music going through channels 3 and 4 for a karaoke-ready output. Inputs include XLR, 3.5mm, and 1/4" jacks, plus a built-in Bluetooth receiver for wireless music streaming from a mobile device.
The KONNECT can be placed on the floor or mounted on a speaker stand. For enhanced convenience in transport, snag the SC-KONNECT carrying bag. For high-tech convenience in operations, an iOS- and Android-compatible app is available for download. It enables wireless control with standard and advanced parameter access modes.
Whether you're a performer on stage or the designated sound engineer, Korg has you covered for open-mic nights, club gigs, concerts, and special events. Visit the B&H SuperStore or beam over to our website to check out the volca mix and KONNECT!
