NAMM 2018: Tascam Offers New Dante-Centered AD Converters

0Share

Just in time for NAMM 2018, Tascam—a brand famous for its analog recording solutions—is jumping into the forefront of digital technology. Yes, the company has decided to fashion a Dante interface, doing so in a relatively simple form factor with two new rackmount units: The ML-16D and the ML-32D.

Both units are analog-to-digital converters, featuring analog D-Sub inputs and redundant Ethernet outputs that support both primary and secondary connections. Accepting signal from microphone preamps, mixing consoles, audio interfaces, and more, these boxes provide uncompressed, multi-channel digital audio, integrating with other Dante enabled devices over Ethernet.

As Dante secures its place in live sound—thanks in no small part to its low-latency operation—Tascam has produced a unit perfect for bridging the gap between the analog universe and digital processing in a fast-paced world.

These units can route signal up to 96 kHz/24-bit. They’re AES67 and Revenna compatible, and offer LED metering on the front panel to show you signal strength and overload indicators on a per-channel basis, both on the input and output side. The ML-16D is a 16-channel unit, and if you need a bigger channel count, the ML-32D will have you covered with up to 32-channels of A/D over Dante.

Both of these are available at B&H, so come on down to our SuperStore or visit us online to check them out.
